The Undisputed King of Big-Game Fishing: Shimano Tiagra
When target species are measured in hundreds of pounds, there is only one reel trusted by commercial captains and big-game anglers worldwide: the Shimano Tiagra. Widely regarded as the ultimate offshore trolling reel ever built, the Tiagra is engineered to stand up to the crushing runs of giant Bluefin Tuna, monster Marlin, and pelagic apex predators. Machined from solid, heavy-walled aluminum to eliminate frame flex under extreme pressure, the Tiagra represents the pinnacle of heavy-tackle durability.
Equipped with Shimano's legendary push-button 2-Speed Gearing, the Tiagra lets you instantly drop into low gear for maximum torque when winching a stubborn giant up from the depths, or switch to high gear to pack on line fast when a pelagic turns toward the boat. Its massive Hydro-Thermal Drag system automatically dissipates intense friction heat on long, high-speed runs, keeping drag pressure silky-smooth and preventing line failure when it matters most.
