Stan Gibbs Lures Danny Surface Swimmer 4.5" 1.5oz | Wooden Saltwater Plug

Target inshore gamefish and back-bay bass with the compact center-pivot action of the Stan Gibbs Danny Surface Swimmer 4.5".

Designed for anglers who need big surface action in a smaller profile, the 4.5-inch, 1.5-ounce Danny Surface Swimmer delivers the iconic Gibbs metal-lip roll. While traditional minnow plugs wobble strictly from the nose, the Danny pivots from a central fulcrum in the body, generating a wide, rhythmic rolling motion right along the surface film. This unique displacement perfectly mimics smaller forage fish—such as peanut bunker, silversides, and small herring—that hungry predators target in shallow estuaries, back bays, and calm surf conditions.

Handcrafted from durable wood for natural buoyancy, this compact swimmer stays high in the water column even during slow, methodical retrieves. Equipped with heavy-duty internal through-wire construction and corrosion-resistant saltwater hardware, the 1.5 oz Danny provides bulletproof durability when battling striped bass, bluefish, and snook.

Key Features

• Center-Pivot Roll: Pivots from a middle body point to create an alluring side-to-side rolling motion that draws explosive surface strikes.

• Compact "Match the Hatch" Profile: The 4.5" body offers a shorter, fatter silhouette that excels in back bays, rivers, and calm surf when gamefish feed on smaller bait.

• Buoyant Wooden Construction: Hand-painted wooden body provides maximum surface action and slow-retrieve swimming capability.

• Tunable Metal Lip: Slightly bend the stainless steel lip up for a deeper retrieve, or down to keep the lure swimming strictly at the surface film.

• Pro Tip: Attach the lure using a black Duo-Lock snap rather than tying directly to the eyelet for maximum freedom of movement and action.
