Designed to help you reach feeding zones far beyond the reach of conventional reels, the Shimano Ultegra XSE brings flagship distance technologies into a highly affordable, feature-packed reel. Finished in an elegant silver aesthetic, it is purpose-built for beach casting, carp fishing, and specimen angling where every yard counts.
The core of the XSE’s casting capability lies in its Super Slow 5 Oscillation and Parallel Body design. By winding line in ultra-dense, parallel wraps and aligning the spool perfectly with the rod blank, line friction against the spool lip and stripper guides is drastically reduced during aggressive power casts.
Key Features & Technologies
-
Ci4+ Composite Body: High-rigidity carbon material reduces overall reel weight, increasing rod tip speed during power casts while eliminating body flex under load.
-
Hagane Gear & InfinityDrive: Cold-forged drive gear combined with low-friction main shaft support provides up to 30% smoother cranking power when hauling heavy lead or fighting large fish.
-
Super Slow 5 Oscillation: Winds 50 wraps of line per spool oscillation cycle, creating micro-precise line lay that eliminates overlapping line drag on the cast.
-
Hi-Speed Instant Drag: Allows lightning-fast adjustments from free-spool to full lock with a small turn of the drag knob.
-
Rigidity Support Drag: Eliminates spool wobble and deflection under heavy drag pressure for smooth, consistent line release.
-
X-Protect Water Resistance: Labyrinth water-repellent seals safeguard internal components against saltwater, sand, and dirt without adding rotational drag
